Benazir Bhutto Shaheed University
Did you know that learning how to do technical things is super important? In Pakistan, after it became a country, people realized they needed special schools for technical learning. Let's explore how one unique university, the Benazir Bhutto Shaheed University of Technology and Skill Development (BBSUTSD) in Khairpur Mirs, came to be!
Back in June 1948, Pakistan's government decided to improve technical education. They made a group called the Technical Education Council to help with this. The council brought experts together to figure out how to improve technical schools and help industries grow. They also worked with governments and people in charge.
Guess what? In September 1950, they got a fantastic idea approved! They decided to make polytechnic schools. These schools would teach students practical skills to help them in the real world. One particular place, the "Sir Ali Murad Technical Institute," started this way. But then, it became even more significant. The government of West Pakistan turned it into a polytechnic in 1962. Later 1974, it became the "Government College of Technology, Khairpur" and started giving degrees!
In 2009-2010, the government of Sindh knew that people needed skills in the petroleum field. So, they made the Petroleum Technical Training Institute (PTTI) in Khairpur. It's a fantastic place where you can learn about oil and chemicals. As time passed, the Government of Sindh made the Benazir Bhutto Shaheed University Khairpur Mirs in 2016. The old college and PTTI became part of this new university. Now, they teach even more things and help students learn skills that can make them awesome!
This university is like a tribute to a great lady, Benazir Bhutto. She wanted everyone to grow and learn, just like this university helps people do. So, remember, places like BBSUTSD Khairpur Mirs are here to ensure we all have excellent skills and knowledge!
