The Islamia University of Bahawalpur (IUB) is a public sector university located in Bahawalpur, Punjab, Pakistan. It was originally established as the Jamia Abbasia in 1925 by His Highness Nawab Sir Sadiq Muhammad Khan Abbasi - V, the fifth Nawab of Bahawalpur. In 1975, the university was renamed and opened up to secular candidates.
