In the city of Karachi, there's a marvelous engineering college. The college is called Dawood University of Engineering and Technology (DCET). It's a unique school that teaches students about engineering. Founded in 1962 by visionary industrialist Mr. Ahmed Dawood, DCET aimed to drive Pakistan's industrial progress. Starting in 1964, it introduced Chemical Engineering, Metallurgy, Materials Engineering, and Electronics Engineering.

After nationalization in 1972, it came under the Federal Ministry of Education. The college expanded to include disciplines like Industrial Engineering, Management, and Architecture. 2013 it transitioned to Dawood University of Engineering and Technology (DUET). Dr. Faizullah Abbasi became Vice-Chancellor.

DUET offers programs in Architecture, Chemical Engineering, Electronics, and more. It gained accreditation from (PCATP) and (PEC). DUET refurbished labs, upgraded IT and introduced PhD scholarships in a Rs.578 million project in 2016. DUET focused on strengthening faculty with over 70 Ph.D. members. It introduced postgraduate programs, graduating 126 Masters by 2021.

In 2020, DUET added market-driven bachelor's programs in Mathematics, Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Cyber Security, and Business Information Systems. Dawood University of Engineering & Technology stands promising in Karachi. It is pivotal to Pakistan's industrial hub and near Quaid's Mausoleum.
